Me 3

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

Me 5About six months ago my family bought a house in Angel Fire, New Mexico (Ultimately it is to be used as a ministry to bless pastors and missionaries who need a breather away from their daily life — We named the house SELAH). Last Summer we were up there for a family reunion. One afternoon I escaped to a nearby field for a photo shoot. I have a tendency of picking flowers wherever they can be found. What I realized later was that these flowers were located next to stinging nettle.  BAD IDEA — for the rest of the day my hands and arms were covered with tiny red stinging bumps…Nonetheless, I had a delightful time twirling in the luscious green grass.

Similar to these photos, life can be a little blurry. We look at our current situations in life with fear. We cry out to God and wonder why He is not giving us what we think we need. God ways are not our ways. He works in mysterious and unfathomable ways. We need to learn to embrace the blurry. Faith. That is the Christian walk. Faith. Believe in Jesus who died on the cross, rose from the grave, and is interceding before His Father on our behalf. Faith. Believe that when life looks blurry, there is rest to be found in His presence.

“’Cease striving and know that I am God…'” Psalm 46:10

Me 2

Faith is approaching every school day with joy, though high school can be rough.

Faith is taking the next step and pursuing that anticipated degree.

Faith is allowing your walls to crumble and embracing new friendships.

Faith is talking to a stranger about Jesus.

Faith is doing something out of the norm, though many will frown upon it.

Faith is trusting Christ He makes us white as snow, though shame and guilt fill your heart.

Faith is trusting your Creator that everything will be okay.

It Takes Courage To Grow Up And Become Who You Really Are // E. E. Cumings

The other day Abigail and I met up for creamy, delicious Gelato. We sat at a little metal table knowing there was much to talk about. Nonetheless, we were silently content in each other’s company as we ate our Gelato and people watched. I told her my camera was in the car, and asked if she wanted to go to the top of the parking garage to snap some photographs. She happily complied.

I have the tendency of being caught up in what people may think of me…

Dwelling on what other’s think, you sometimes forget who you are.

Confusion springs up as you try to remember what exhilarates your heart.

Doris Day, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, and Judy Garland play through my iPhone speakers as I sit here editing photographs.

My window is open, a candle is lit, and my ball cap sits on top of my braided hair. I like tonight. Tonight is me.

I dislike forgetting.

I like who God made me.

I forget all too often.

{This is my “gangsta” pose. Enjoy.}
